OMG and Progress On an Old Quilt

Yesterday was finally a good day for sewing and decluttering at the same time. So, I got out an ancient UFO and went right at it. This one, which I've had for an OMG at least once, was started by my daughter about 15 years ago.

She made the blocks as part of our local quilt shop's BOM.

I've been adding the narrow borders, discovering that the blocks are not all the same size (she was rather young and new at sewing).

So, after selecting the ones that were closest to the same size, I put them together with some dark green (her color of choice) fabric and came up with an almost twin sizes quilt top. Now I plan to add borders to make it big enough and then get it long-arm quilted.

"Anarchy," who has been sadly missing for a few days, is happily home and helping.

But that's not my official One Monthly Goal. This is:

And I have neglected it for so long that I don't remember what size I was making.

So, my goal is to reaquaint myself with it and get it sewn up into a flimsy. Then I'll figure out what to do with it. I sure do like the fabrics.

It's a cold, rainy day, so not much outside activity will be happening, so I hope to make good progress with sewing.

How about you? Do you get to be creative today?

  1. we were lazy today, but I did retrieve some "shirtings" from storage so I can continue on a project I have in the works. Did not cut any of the fabrics yet though.

  2. Sometimes we just need the "lazy days." Often they revive our creativity, I find.
