Monday Musings & This & That After Weekend Trip

Musings

This weekend we drove down to our alma mater, Cedarville University, in southern Ohio primarily to enjoy watching our nephew/cousin as the lead in the fall play, The Giver. He did a fabulous job and it was a delight to see my sister and her husband and other son being so proud of him as were we. And getting to see my sister's family was part of the reason we went down since we don't get to visit with them very often.

We also enjoyed getting to spend quite a lot of time with our daughter's boyfriend who is a student there. It was good to get to know him a little better. Our former classmate, with whom we stayed, told us (specifically told said daughter) that we're welcome to stay with them any time. So, visiting with boyfriend just became easier. :)

And, we took a few pictures on the bridge at the waterfall where we got engaged.

It's been a few years! (Try almost 41.)

On Sunday we worshipped with the folk at Grace Baptist Church in town and I was super blessed by the music. They have an orchestra combined with their more modern praise band and their accompaniment to the worship music was magnificent and powerful, especially the brass section. It probably helps that many of the musicians are faculty of the college and top-notch. But I was so blessed to be able to sing along with their leading and accompaniment which was majestic, quality, and spirit-soaring though not so touchy-feely as to be more about my feelings than God's majesty.

If you are blessed enough to be in a big enough, or trained enough, place for quality worship music, don't take it for granted. Please enjoy it to the hilt in honor of those of us who are in at least temporary less blessed situations!
