What better topic with which to launch a new blog than words of wisdom and a book review?! Ok, a giveaway would be a great thing, but I'm not ready for that yet.
Perusing various blogs on bullet journaling, I saw several recommending this book, so I swallowed the hook and got it.
It has been very inspiring and motivational. Now, I'm not much into praising oneself (Proverbs 27:2 Let another praise you, and not your own mouth; a stranger, and not your own lips.), so I'm revising some of the thoughts on affirmation and self-talk to fit more with who I am in Christ and who I can become with His power.
I've been taking notes and personalizing things in my bullet journal. (Please note that I'm a real person without very great drawing skills, so my journal is not as Pinterest-worthy as some.)
My Silence time includes Bible reading and prayer.
I have not written my Affirmations yet, but want to write some helping me to achieve goals in my personal life, relational life, blogging, homemaking, and financial goals.
The concept of Visualization comes loaded with New Age/Mysticism stigma for me, so I will need to rethink this idea with more Biblical parameters, such as some that David expresses in the Psalms.
Exercise has been an area that definitely needed improvement in my life and this book has motivated me to get outside and take a half-hour brisk walk through the woods around me daily. It doesn't fit into my early morning schedule to walk for that long, so that's been happening a little later in the morning while my last homeschooled kid does her independent math lesson. I hope to add a ten-minute yoga session in the early morning (Miracle Morning).
Reading is already a favorite activity for me so the challenge here will be to put the book down. I plan to use the morning time to read devotionals, self-improvement books, or other inspirational books like biographies of admirable people.
Scribing, or writing, has already been happening nearly daily also, but now I hope to focus more on self-improvement and evaluating how I'm doing in various growth areas.
How about you? Have you read this book? Do you have another motivational book or system that keeps you moving forward? Share about it.
