Sunday we got back from a wonderful trip to New England, stopping along the way to enjoy a little time with some of our kids and grandkids. We got to reunite with some old college friends and see the Atlantic Ocean as well as the Boston Freedom Trail, the Mayflower II, Nubble Lighthouse, Mt. Washington, as well as some beautiful countryside.
The Statue of Liberty from Liberty Park, NJ
Old Ironsides (the Constitution) in Boston
Of course I had to have lobster as well as clam chowder
Pilgrim's Rock which has been worn away by time and chisels
The Mayflower II - really quite small
Huge Monument to the Forefathers, as highlighted in Kirk Cameron's movie Monumental
The Minuteman monument in Concord
Though foggy, the time at Nubble Lighthouse was beautiful
Fort Ticonderoga and Mt. Defiance which overlooks it were fascinating. We'd read much about these places in our homeschooling and it was so valuable to see the placement and perspective here.
So, now that we're back and settling into our homeschool routine for the year, I'm eager to get to a lot of projects and books. One of the big things I want to do today is plan a batik quilt because all fabric is 25% off at Hobby Lobby this week. 😁
And I have a scrap quilt top to finish.
So what are you settling into these days?
