Scrappy Mystery Quilt-a-long

I'm so humbly tickled that I'm mostly keeping up with Joy's Scrappy Mystery Quilt-a-long and am just about ready to work on today's step (#3). Hop over there and see what she's doing. I imagine you can catch up rather quickly since the steps have been pretty simple so far.

Here are my sideways 9-patches (Step 1):

And here are my sideways HSTs (Step 2):

Here is my handy-lazy-susan-and-bit-of-old-cutting-mat way to make trimming the HSTs to the correct size easier:

I've also been able to finish sewing the flimsy of my Quarantine Quilt wallhanging. I started it the day after my daughter's quickly put together wedding about three weeks sooner than planned since group gatherings had been shrunk to 10 or less. Then when it looked like things were shut down indefinitely (our governor moved the goalposts mid-game), I couldn't figure out when to end the dern thing (rather like our governor). So I settled on having it extend from the time larger, church gatherings were closed to when we were able to gather to worship again albeit in two services instead of one with much more space between chair groupings. So I finally had a beginning and an ending.

But it's the longest, thinnest, weirdest (like this excessive quarantining) wallhanging I've ever made.

I've started embroidering the title block and will go on to the birthday blocks since we had five family birthdays during this time. The wedding block is already done.

Along the excessive quarantining line, we spotted this in a yard yesterday, and then found another one in another yard. Not exactly a compliment, but not totally off base either.
