June One Monthly Goal Completion - Quarantine Quilt

Aaaaannndddd coming in under the wire is the June OMG of my Quarantine Quilt. Just finished it this afternoon. It's very simply machine-quilted with no batting. Not perfect, but neither was quarantine.

Since our dear governor keeps extending her state of emergency, I had trouble deciding when to end the quilt, so I chose to commemorate (unhappily) how long our church gathering worship times were cancelled. Fortunately, we were able to livestream, but it's not the same.

During the quarantine, we had a quickly arranged home wedding (because gatherings over 10 were about to become a misdemeanor). That is commemorated with an embroidered block on the left side of this picture.

We also had several family birthdays that are embroidered blocks.

The tree blocks reminded us that we got out into the woods and hiking trails sometimes, too.

And various fabrics show some of the ways we occupied ourselves including enjoying kitties, tea, coffee, wine, books, yarn, sewing, and building our Hobbit Hole (the patio and stairs outside a basement egress window). I used my batik scraps to celebrate Sundays.

So, I'm glad it's done and that we're back to church services, though modified for safety. I plan to hang this in our living room.
