My sweet sister-in-love sent me a copy of this book as encouragement after several very hard providences/failures on my part/rejections happened within the past year. I am so grateful.
While my devastations have been different than Lysa's, the principles so clearly and heartfully presented in this book were a gift from God to help me out of despair and lack of faith. She spoke as one who understood the pain/feelings of rejection and failure and commiserated, but didn't leave me in the misery. She helped to lift my eyes and begin to regain a sense of God's trustworthiness despite what looks like abandonment. I was so encouraged to begin growing again that I was able to pass along a copy to someone else in deep trials.
If I could only pick five books for the "desert island challenge," I'm quite certain this would be one of them. I plan to reread this one, maybe yearly.
Rush right out (or to Amazon.com) and get a copy for you, or for anyone who is in the Fellowship of the Agonized.
It looks really interesting Kim... I am going to see if I can get a copy, might be just what I need at the moment . thanks for sharing xx
